ABOUT THE SUNFLOWER

The Sunflower provides opportunities for interested students to learn and practice skills in art, journalism, design, production, photography, editing, and business. The Sunflower exists to provide the University community with a tangible record of the school year and highlight the significant happenings at ESU.  The staff aims to include diverse coverage of events that relate to the students of  Emporia State University. The Sunflower provides an open forum to the campus community for the free expression and exchange of ideas, concerns, issues, trends, and information, and outlets for the ESU community.

"One of the remarkable characteristics of young wild sunflowers, in addition to growing in soil that is not hospitable, is how the young flower bud follows the sun across the sky. In doing so it receives life-sustaining energy before bursting forth

in its glorious yellow color."

-Quentin L. Cook
